Other factors that you may want to consider when deciding is whether to go mid-week — when the number of people starting their trek should be lower — and if you prefer to see Kilimanjaro’s magnificent glaciers under the brightness of a full moon as you summit.

January to March
January to March is a decent time to climb Kilimanjaro. The weather is reasonable as it is not too cold; the days are often clearer with few clouds and only the occasional brief shower.
April to May is the long rainy season. If you don’t mind the showers you can have the mountain mostly to yourself!
June to October has blue and brilliant skies above the tree-line and the chance of precipitation is minimal. The weather is fairly dry between June and July, thoughA�the nights can be very cold.A�August and September are the peak climbing months with many clear days.
November to December
November to mid December is the short rainy season, where afternoon rains are common but skies are clear in the mornings and evenings. Traffic picks up around Christmas and New Year’s due to the holidays.
