Getting from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Arusha
If you fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (airport code JRO), we can arrange for transport to your hotel approximately 40 minutes away. Most trekkers choose not to take a rest day and begin climbing the following morning, however, it is a good idea to take a day to recover from your long flight if you are able to.
KLM flies to Kilimanjaro from the US and UK regularly, as doesABritish Airways and its partner airlines.
GettingAfrom Nairobi (NBO) or Dar Es Salaam (DAR) to Arusha
If possible, we recommend flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport to maximize your comfort. If you choose to arrive in Nairobi (airport code NBO) or Dar es Salaam (DAR), subsequent ground journeys involve additional cost, overnight stays, and long bus rides.
If you come via Nairobi you may also be required to obtain a visa for Kenya. Although these flights may be cheaper, the additional complexity and stress will make your journey a bit less pleasant.
